Abano Terme, the most important and ancient thermal resort in Europe, rises in an enchanting position at the bottom of the Euganean Hills and in the middle of Veneto region. Ancient Romans already came 2000 years ago to Abano ( at that time called Aponus) for the cures based on water and mud and exactly the name reveals that this curative method was considered effective at that time: in fact Aponus means  “ taking off the pain” .
Today Abano Terme appears as a quiet, but well-served touristic place. Rich of fountains that remind of importance and beneficial effects of water, the centre of Abano is dominated by a pedestrian zone full of shops, locals, historical buildings, surrounded by private parks and public gardens .
